Doris Stevens
Doris is a retried Military wife of 30 years. Doris and her husband Robert have 3 grown sons 4 grandchildren. She has been in the childcare business for 29 years while her husband was in Military; Doris had the opportunity to teach children in Germany, Hawaii, and Chicago. Doris has a Degree in Speech. She is also a life time member of Empire Who’s Who and Empowering Executive Profession.
Doris is the Founder and the President of Our Little Angles Childcare Association. She has served a total of 9 years on the VAFCCA Board of Directors. In that time she has served on the Finance Committee, Ways & Means Committee, and she is currently serving as the parliamentarian, and is also on the Local Leadership and Devolvement Committee of the VAFCCA. With help from the 2004 VAFCCA Board of Directors, she also implemented the White Elephant Auction, which is held at our yearly conference. The funds from this event go towards supporting the new attendees Scholarship Program.
Doris’s vision for the Alliance is to continue to grow in all aspects and to build a foundation for both parents and children. She said that her main goal was to build children self-esteem.
By Doris continuing to participate on the VAFCCA Board of Directors she hopes to gain self–satisfaction knowing that she is and has made a difference, also she hopes to reaching out to the providers, and the children and parents that they care for each day. Doris said “Children are the center of her world”
