Treasurer - Sonnia Jones
I have over 24 years of experience in the Early Childhood Field and currnetly own and operate Sonnia’s Little Angels Family Child Care and I have loved every mintue of it.
I attended Patrick Henry Community College and received my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education in 1996.
I am one of the founders of the Franklin County Family Day Care Association, which was established in 1995. I have served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Association and for the past 7 years, I have served as the President. In my local area, I also am very active in working with The Department of Social Services, providing training opportunities as well as support for the child care provider in area. The work we do with the children, families, and other providers is very important.
In 1995, I attended my first VAFCCA Training Conference and became a member of the association. In 2000, I began serving on the board of Directors as the Election Commitee Chair. Currently, I serve as the Treasurer as well as member of the Election Committee. The work, time, and combined efforts help to raise quality childcare and I am looking forward to contiuning working closely with VAFCCA and others to support the combined efforts across the state of Virginia.
